School Timings at Start and End of Day

8 September 2020 (by Anna Ludnow (anna.ludnow))

Mrs Murray has sent out an email this afternoon reiterating how important it is to be on time on arrival and departure to school, please do not be early due to congestion. The full message can been seen below

Dear Parents,

It is so good to have the children back. The atmosphere around the school is really positive and it is
just lovely to hear them all playing in their class bubbles on the playground or field. They are here
and learning which is absolutely fantastic. Thank you for your cooperation and support at pick up
and drop off. Considering the scale of the challenge, I think we are all doing really well and your
cooperation with the plan is greatly appreciated. Whilst getting all of the school into the building and
maintaining distance between the different class groups is challenging, if we continue to work
together it is one that we can overcome.
With more children coming into school each day, the mornings are becoming more and more of a
challenge. It was evident today, with two year groups coming in at the same time, just how
important it is for the children to be on time and not to be early. It is really hard to get the children
in safely if there are lots of people waiting on Dale Avenue around the entrance. We should all still
be physically distancing of 1m+. In school, we are keeping 2m away from everyone that is not in our
class bubble. It is better to arrive 1 minute after the group's start time than to arrive even a few
minutes early.

I know how hard it is to be exactly on time but I need to impress upon you how important it is not to
arrive early. There were some parents this morning who were waiting for 10-15 minutes for their
slot. If you do this, it means there is a far higher risk of you crossing over with other classes and year
groups. We need to do all that we can to avoid this. If you have multiple drop off times, we would
kindly ask you to wait further down Dale Avenue to avoid the crossing over of class bubbles and year
groups.

It would also be a great help to the system if parents and children could arrive on the side of the
school entrance that your child’s class enter from. This will help to avoid any cross over and mixing
with other classes and year groups

I have a duty of care to keep all the children and staff safe and I can only do this if all families work
with us to stick to the timings.

Thank you in advance for your continued cooperation with this. With the infection rate being
reported to be rising at an alarming rate, we all need to think very carefully about how we can work
together to keep our physical distance to ensure that we can keep the children in school. I am very
grateful to all of you for your continued support and for doing all that you can to help the children
enter and leave the school grounds safely.
Thank you.
Kind regards,
Mrs L Murray
