Learning Support Teacher (part time)

We are currently seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and compassionate Learning Support Teacher to work with individual pupils and small groups to support them in achieving their learning targets. This is a part-time 2 to 3 days per week position until July 2025.
As a part-time Learning Support Teacher, you will work closely with identified pupils across a range of year groups (Year 3-6) providing targeted support to help them meet their academic and developmental goals. You will design and deliver tailored learning plans for individual students or small groups, fostering confidence and helping them to overcome learning challenges. The majority of the children that you will be working with need help to secure the foundations in English and maths, many are still working at KS1 level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with individual students and small groups to support them in meeting their learning targets.
- Provide differentiated instruction to suit the individual needs and learning styles of students.
- Regularly assess and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed.
- Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, SENCO and other support staff to ensure an integrated approach to learning.
- Document and track student progress and development and feed back to class teachers.
- Provide feedback to students, parents and staff on learning achievements and areas for improvement.
- Support students in developing effective study skills, confidence and a positive attitude toward learning.
- Contribute to a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with at least 4 years teaching experience (not suitable for an ECT).
- Strong understanding of how to differentiate teaching for a range of learning needs, including students with SEN or learning difficulties.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to modify the curriculum to fit students' needs, interests and academic goals.
- Patience, creativity and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to adapt depending on the changes that occur on a daily basis in school.
- Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Knowledge of relevant educational frameworks and strategies for supporting diverse learners.
